Chew valley lake is a beautiful spot in North Somerset. It’s only a half an hour drive from Bristol down country roads with spectacular views. Close to Chew Magna, this spot is becoming more and more popular with families and the recent addition of “Salt and Malt” fish and chips has definitely caused an influx

Rome: 4 day itinerary
Rome is a beautiful city, brimming with history and the most amazing churches. We had enough time in 4 days to revisit a couple of our favourite spots but would still love to return. Had the weather been slightly towards the end of our trip, we would’ve also had time to visit Florence. But we
Exploring Nusa Lembongan
There are lots quirky things to see and do on Nusa Lembongan. The island is much bigger than the Gili’s but it is easy to travel around the whole island on a moped (with one main road covering the length of the island). We spent a day exploring which gave us another day to go
Recommended places to eat in Paris
It can be difficult to plan to visit specific restaurants when going on a city break. Especially if you don’t have much time/have lots of things you want to see and do. However, we have never felt disappointed when researching, finding and dining in a specific restaurant that has caught our attention before the trip.
Sightseeing in Paris: 2 day itinerary
Our trip to Paris in May half term was organised around going to the Roland Garros (French Open) tennis, which can be read about here: My guide to the French Open. However, we made sure we also had a couple of days to explore the city. In order to make the most of our two sightseeing days
Ski Blanc catered chalet, Meribel
Ski Blanc was our first catered chalet experience and it was brilliant! We stayed in Chalet Foehn; situated in Les Allures, only a 2 minute walk from the gondola to up to Meribel. Although staying in a catered chalet was a more expensive option (£429pp), we were very impressed with the quality of the food.
Walking around Barcelona: La Rambla and la boqueria
We flew to Barcelona in October half term from London Stansted and spent the first day exploring part of the city by foot. Barcelona has so much to offer and we were really glad we had planned out a bit of an itinerary before we arrived as this made sure we did most of the
Food and drink recommendations, Koh Tao
We experienced a few restaurants during our short stay on Koh Tao and I have to recommend a couple of places that we really enjoyed for both food and drinks: Su Chilli – great for a cheap Thai meal, incredibly quick service and so is good for if the meal needs to be quick to
Things to do in Bophut
As I have already mention in my “Arriving in Koh Samui post ” there are plenty of places eat and some cool spots to relax on the beach in Bophut. Although there are loads of restaurants to choose from without a reservation needed; Rob is great at researching the best spots to go before we go on
Arriving in Koh Samui
I was very excited for my first trip to Asia and my first holiday with Rob! Although we were originally looking to go to Bali, the prices of flights to Thailand couldn’t be beaten and the prospect of exploring Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao definitely provided a great second choice! We flew with Finnair
